3. How can NeoCells be so much less expensive than the other companies that provide cord blood stem cell preservation services?
NeoCells has made a commitment to its client to be “America’s high quality yet affordable cord blood stem cell preservation company.” Our company mission is to provide our high quality service to as many clients as possible who desire to preserve their child’s cord blood and not just offer our service to those for whom price is no object. We realize that prenatal, delivery and post-delivery costs can be a substantial burden to new parents. In recognition of this high cost burden, NeoCells explored every avenue to contain the cost of our service. To accomplish this task, while at the same time meeting or exceeding all scientific and regulatory requirements and providing all of the high quality service you deserve, NeoCells implemented several cost containment parameters on your behalf. We chose to not price our services high, so we could then offer promotional discounts, price matching and other costly client purchase inducements in an effort to make a high price appear more palatable. Ours is every day affordable pricing accomplished by NeoCells rigorously controlling costs by eliminating unnecessary items of expense, such as upfront HLA testing, which cost some others include and pass along to their clients. Our affordable pricing also is accomplished through not offering to pay caregivers to promote our cord blood preservation service to their patients. It is our feeling that the decision to store their child’s cord blood should be a reasoned decision made by parents and not caregivers who are compensated to recommend a company’s service. Our laboratories are able to contain their costs by not having to outsource or broker its laboratory processing and storage. With some companies charging $1,400 to $1,750 for this service and $115 to $125 additional for annual storage, the disparity in those costs as compared with those of NeoCells is readily apparent. We then leave the decision as to the service they choose to select up to discerning parents who will take into consideration our stem cell preservation service quality, our consummate client service and very reasonable cost.
4. When should I enroll with NeoCells?
NeoCells recommends that families should decide as soon as possible to collect and preserve their newborn’s stem cells. Many babies arrive early and since this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that can only be performed at the delivery. We recommend enrolling with NeoCells as soon as possible. Should your decision be made late in your pregnancy, or if the prospect for delivery appears early, it is never too late in your pregnancy to call us to attempt to enroll. NeoCells will make every effort to expedite the shipment of our UmbiliCord Collection Kit to expectant parents up to the last minute.
5. Will I be charged a fee by my caregiver for the collection?
Most caregivers do not charge a fee for cord blood collection, as it is considered to be an extension of the delivery process and only takes a few minutes following the delivery of your baby. In most cases the cord blood is collected by the delivery room nurse, rather than the physician. In most cases, parents should not expect to be charged an extra fee beyond the standard prenatal, delivery and post-delivery fees normally charged by their caregiver. As such, NeoCells does not make a standard practice of paying for any such additional cord blood collection fees accepted by and billed to the parents.
6. How does NeoCells ensure the confidentiality of my personal information?
NeoCells does not sell any client information. We are bound by government disclosure regulations and have strict confidentiality procedures enforced with all employees.
7. What is NeoCells’ refund policy?
REFUND POLICY: Once NeoCells ships your UmbiliCord collection kit and for whatever reason are not able to send NeoCells your sample, you will receive a refund of monies paid minus $100 ($150 if your kit was expedited). If you are able to send your sample and lab tests are performed, but your sample isn’t viable for storage, you will receive a refund of monies paid minus $375 ($425 if your kit was expedited).
DUE DATES: Due dates are educated projections and therefore not exact. If you are within four weeks of your projected due date, NeoCells recommends choosing expedited shipping to receive your collection kit as quickly as possible since many people deliver early. If you are within four weeks of your due date and you do not choose expedited shipping, NeoCells can't be held responsible if you deliver before your kit arrives. In this example, you will receive a refund of monies paid minus $100.
